Mock up of real estate at Earls Court

Capital and Counties

A new online presence for one of London's largest listed property companies

The Client

Capital & Counties Properties (Capco) is an investment and development property company. They are one of the largest who specialise in central London real estate.

Capco currently manage two landmark London estates at Covent Garden and Earls Court.

The Challenge

Capital & Counties Properties (Capco) required a slick website to showcase their property portfolio. They wanted visitors to the new site to be able to access their corporate information. The new site needed to include clear and intuitive sign posting to make this process as easy as possible.

Their growing portfolio meant that the site would also need regular updating. Because of this the Capco editorial team needed to be able to update content with minimal effort. They also needed to be adept on the new site with little technical experience or specialist knowledge.

The Solution

It was important that the new site reflect Capco's high-end property portfolio. With all elements of the site being sympathetic to their sophisticated brand. With this in mind, we partnered with an external brand agency. This ensured that brand was a key touchstone throughout the entirety of the project.

It was also key for the editorial team to have greater control and flexibility. Because of this our team choose to create the site in Drupal 8. This allowed us to exploit the flexible paragraph types available. We created a variety of paragraph options for the Capco team. Each one of these provided an impactful way to present content whilst staying true to the brand.

The paragraph framework also allowed the editorial team to create new pages and content. Giving them greater control over updating their site with minimal training. An approach which has resulted in a fewer developmental changes since release.

Our team also worked with internal stakeholders to agree a new information architecture. Employing 'reusable content objects' within the site framework to maximise the editorial efficiency.

Together these enhancements to the site have allowed the editorial team greater freedom. They are now able to make amendments and additions to site, safe in the knowledge that any changes will be on brand and of benefit to visitors.
